Also, don't count on it being the driver....
Our VXR is absolutly pants on unleaded juice. TBH, its quite boring to drive with UL..... Put Super in though, gives me around another 20bhp odd (morelike the 230-236bhp claimed) and its SO much quicker. No flat spots, pulls all the way up the revs........
I wouldn't want to "play" with anyone in UL mode..... So in that effect, if say a Saxo came up next to me and I pulled away marginally, he will think his saxo is super fast, when in fact, its our car running slow........
Unless you know the other driver, your never realyl going to know... Donna had some BR in a 1.2 clio try it on last night, she didn't even bother, but the guy though he was Aryton Senna and probably thought his clio is now a super fast clio.....

The CTR driver obviously cant drive it to its potential. Despite what people think and say , the CTR is a quick car. People seem to think a 2.0 Corsa will beat a CTR but not an ITR, but in reality there isnt really anything between the Type R's. Its just people have some kind of vendetta against the Civic.
A standard 2.0 Corsa gets to 100 in around 18 seconds at a guess? And the CTR is in the 16's.

have to say i have also seen the said corsa XEV. its quick for what it is and he does get very very good launches (he can drive well to be fair)
he has shocked a few recently but when another car gets a good launch he is lagging behind quite badly and cannot gain the ground back

I disagree with that.
Speak to Akeemking (uknow I haven't see him in a while, and his sites offline too!!) and watch him race his friends NA 250 (ish) bhp Civic Type R (Akeem has a 300bhp LET) and top end wise, they are VERY similar. Admittidly the Corsa pulls initially on the Civic, once and top end, very close. When the civic got in the corsas draft, he realed the corsa back in (until he moved over again )
Civic Type R's are great cars, but just like Corsas, Saxos, and BMWs, can be driven by complete bellends who think they can drive.......

0-100 in 16.8 shit? I don't get this torque business. Do you notice torque when your banging it through the gears? It doesn't have great torque at all but that isn't what v-tec is. I've had v-tec and turbo and V6's, all very different and all excellent in their own way. Doesn't mean a type-r is slow.

Torque is a major factor in low revs and low gears as it the turning force that can be applied to the wheel
hence oil burners up to around 20 - 30 mph are very very quick
Power is needed at higher speeds to over come drag produce
hence over 120+ CTR take forever to gain more speed
