Small update:

Following on from my intercooler thread the other day, decieded to test it properly

Get yourselfs one of these

one of these

and a bicyle inner tube with intercooler, place in the tub water, com sa:

and pump away: if you have a leaky intercooler then this happens

shit. do you rekon this can be welded?

Also having a look at the mounts, do you think they need replacing?

These two are rusted on i think, and there is a fair anount of play in the engine mount

The gearbox mounts are pretty crap. It's all so old school I would get something proper for it. As for the rubbers, they look fine, but you will want to think about getting some motorsport spec mounts because those rubbers can barely hold a 1.2 8v still...

You can get a new core put onto the intercooler, or you could see how much they are to replace. It's a Frontera one so I guess there are a lot about.

I dont understand which bits your saying i should replace ed. The rubber mounts that bolt to the cars chassis or the plates that bolt to the engine and gearbox?

I'm using a place in Birmingham for the next batch of stuff for that reason Just means I have to lug stuff up and down between bases, but not to worry....
