a) The Civic has a better suspension setup, Honda Type Rs ALWAYS handle perfectly, all of them.
b) The Civic engine is on the other side of the gearbox to yours, meaning the engine leans forward under acceleration, not back, thus increasing the load on the tyres, meaning more traction
c) The Civic has an LSD
d) The Civic does 0-60mph in 6.4 seconds, the 306 does it in 7.2, according to the manufacturers figures.

Would you like more?

you original comment said they try to race off the lights thinking they can win but they can't

Point is you have less power similar torque and they both weight roughly the same

Traction will be better on the CTR as its designed to put down 200 BHP

Also what you fail to see is that you have spent alot of money trying to get your car to the standard of a CTR whereas you can drive a CTR off the forecourt and still give you the wanker sign as he drives away from you at the lights

CTR soes not have a LSD. Atthe time the FOCUS RS was the only car in its class to have a LSD. I don't know if the new CTR has a LSD

I've just been doing that Tom

EP CTR - 0-60mph in 6.8
306 GTi-6 - 0-60mph in 7.2

Not much in it there BUT

CTR - 0-100mph 16.9s
Gti-6 - 0-100mph in 20.1s

That's a fair difference, AND the new one is quicker.

Little to none - The change in material might give a negligible gain (heat transfer would have been considered when it was designed), and any heat not transfered to the manifold, would reside in the head, which the air still needs to go through anyway.

If the heat werent absorbed by through the gasket, it's still be absorbed by the ambient engine bay heat anyway .

Oh and if the intake manifold was being used to dissipate heat, you've just knocked your in-cylinder temps up, maening the engine will run hotter, be less efficient, and will most likely kill the head gasket quicker, you clever, clever boy

sorry guys new FN2 CTR DOESNT have a LSD anymore than tyhe old one did. Cheapo Honda UK didnt want it, as a lot of the 'comfy car' drivers who want a CTR dont want the extra driving fun of a LSD :-P

So glad i got my DC5 now, it still has more power, a LSD and weighs a LOT less than the new CTR.

Page 1 or 2, I said I'd have the dc5 over one all day much nicer looking too imo.

Sadly you also pay ALOT more for insurance than you would for an EP3 civic, you'd have payed more for it than a similarly aged/mileaged civic, and you have very little gains to show for it .

(Based on mates who have each car, are a similar age and live within a couple of miles of each other)

I'm pretty sure the dc5 would be quite a bit quicker with the extra power, the diff and the weight loss. Looks much much better and probably handles a shed load better aswell, the extra insurance cost would be worth it just because they;re rarer also.

I thought there'd be a difference, but apparently it's not as noticable as you'd imagine. They weigh pretty much the same, so i can only imagine it was down to driving style, and the way the power is delivered on the Integra .

I can't see it being noticable on a road too much but on a track you would think it'd kill it, I would anyway

So it's noticable when you've payed extra money for insurance, and it's no longer valid anyway?

Great stuff .

Don't get me wrong i like the DC5 alot, i just don't see the orgasms people have over it, then slate the EP3 when their is very little appart form looks to distinguish between them .

N.B i can't comment on handling becuase i've never driven them back to back, but IMO again it'll be negligible .
