another thing to mention is that there was 4 members of CS at Vsport on the day, we all commented how as soon as this thread was posted Rob-b and steve would take the bait, put on their keyboard warrior outfit and go all out to destroy a thread with vts/106 bullshit.
so predictable

unfortunately you cant put a post up about anything to do with the performance of a car these days without it being classed as 'bait'

Just read the whole thread and all I can say is WTF..
For a start ytour all argueing over fly figures, so what the hell is that going to achieve.. If your talking about on the road then surely the power at the wheels is what matters..
In conclusion I think that theres a minority of people on here with half a clue about cars and Dave A certainly wouldn't be one of them in my eyes...
Rant over...

where do people get their opinions of Dave from?
obviously he knows what he's talking about as he's running a business, by the looks and sounds of it a very successful one at that.
i havent met dave but have spoke to him on the phone about the stuff he sells and the services he offers. sounded very much to me as if he knows exactly what he is doing.
look at his project corsa aswell, thats going well and the plans are very intresting and from the previous engine build his new one will be very successful.
just cant see how he would have his own business if he didnt know what he was on about.
the route dave has taken into his own shop is the way i want to go and im working from the bottom up so i know what im on about
would a company like GAZ trust him to develop suspension kits for them if he didnt?
how someone running a florishing business doesnt know what theyre on about

your not getting the whole powerband thing, iv yet to see the graph for the vts so cant comment, but il say again, the vts/106 will get 1/4 mile times of about 15.3, corsas with higher power than steves and similar weight arent quite as fast as that
real world is where its at, not some graph on a paper, also i have seen steves speedo vids and its not as fast as my std 106 without a doubt
theres more to it than power curves on paper, theres gear ratios, how the casr put the power down, how freely the engines will rev etc
steves makes peak power at 5400ish a vts will be around 6400, thats a whole 1000 revs it will continue to pull until it reaches peak and a higher peak at that, the corsa will run out of steam faster

in fact you can see this clearly on the speedo vids, steves car pulls to about 55 in second and you can see it running out of steam at about 50, mine will continue to pull hard right up to about 65 in 2nd and the same goes for the other gears, thats where the advantages lie and thats why it will be faster

What I dont understand is how you all compare bhp figures to what cars fastest.. You have to take into account gearing, tyres etc etc..
