just buy a gunsons easibleed from halfords. so simple, you cant go wrong and will bleed the brakes perfectly in a fraction of the time with no mess.
only about £15 as well

Id just like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has helped me out in this thread and with all my brake problems. You are all very helpful x
Brakes are going good *touch wood* Just going to take it easy for 150 miles to bed them in. Then all should be good
8 months in the planning and 7 days fitting. I think i deserve a gold star TBH

Yeah, bled them using the method as said above and it seemed to take half the time and was much easier Great pedal feel too.

Although i do have one question.
What if the cylinder i changed was actually aluminium when i thought it was cast iron And the replaced one was cast iron?

why do you need to know that?
if its the same cylinder then it'll be fine. no need to worry what its made of.

Need to know because i dont know if there is a difference
I just dont see why they would make two if either one would suit. Surely if it didnt matter then they would only make one.

the ones on there are probably factory ones.
and aftermarket ones are different cause its probably cheaper to make.
no other reason aslong as there isnt a choice of cylinders for that car.
if there isnt theres no need for the magnet

bieran if you read the thread you'd know there was a choice and Haimsey fitted the wrong one and now wants to know if it will cause a problem!

sorry dude, tbh the diference is usually how the bolt to the back plate,
so if it has bolted up fine then there should be no difference in the operation of it

if your worryed about it being ally the only problem it will have is the bolts sezing like shit sticks to a blanket. whip a bolt out at a time and put some copper slip/brake past on them wont havr the problem any more

bolts are the same bolt regardless off cylinder no need for any copper grease.
I suspect if anything the difference iss going to be more bore size related!
