BTW Doyle, when you send off for a new V5 the DVLA send you a letter acknowledging your request and saying 'it will be processed on [insert a date 3 months in the future]', you could ask to see this letter......

But yea at least get the receipt, I just sold my bike with no V5 and its got no tax, so unfortunatly the new keeper cannot tax it while I wait for it to arrive, but I did explain all this to him and how I would sort it all out for him

I've bought loads of cars without logbooks. Print out a V62 and send it off.

provided the car isn't already in your name, it costs fuck all to get a log book issued in your name.

I had to do this last week. Didn't cost a penny. Just go onto the DVLA website, print the form off and pop it in the post.

Last week means you haven't got it back yet,...

And your not going to get it back unless you paid the £25 fee

Sorry, i meant the other week!

I have it back and it cost nothing whatsoever.

Just looked at the V62 form and actually, he will have to pay because he doesnt have the new keeper slip. I had the slip so i was able to do this:

Life skills + common sense = Failure.

I cannot believe you walked away, without the slip, and without even a receipt. Did your parents not teach you anything?

God forbid when you have to buy a house and sort out the paperwork with that

But Labour claims the youth is getting smarter via GCSE results.....
