As much as you can say its a tad expensive you can't deny RS's always have great residuals so if you can afford one...why not I guess??

Well smart business plan in my books, chep deal with 3m for wrapping, few minor mods for more power and whack on 10k on the asking price.....there is always more than 500 people with more money than sense

The Pistonheads thread on this is even more interesting than this one, people go absolutely crazy unless it's got RWD and a BMW badge.
What happens when someone keys it, will they need to take it to the local signwriters to get the stickers blended in

Just read through 6 pages of pure verbal diarrhea to find that only a handful of answers were about the topic in question
No wonder other sites claim this place to full of childish people, pity as a few on here are very knowledgable and helpful and actually know what there on about when it comes to cars.
This topic should have been locked pages ago as its go fuk all to do with the original question.
Regarding that I personally wouldnt spend £35k on a ford focus no matter how special it is.
Just have a look at what other cars you can have for that money, colin posted up the other day a link of a Porsche 911 turbo for £26k. I know which one i'd rather have.

Eck,
Don't you think the vapours from chilli-paste infused, projectile diaherra is what makes CorsaSport so unique?

Just have to pay to get the panel re-wrapped. There's a company I found that does it.

Deffo great buys at the moment but your average Joe would have heart failure if anything went wrong with it. Plus they are edging for 10 years old. I was at Mark Fish motorsport when he handed a guy a 6k rebuild invoice for a Boxter not even worth 10k.
All swings and roundabouts

My mate bought a Boxster on a 51 plate really cheap with a blown engine, bottom end had gone. He got it for peanuts for that exact reason.
He got another engine and away he went, but most people wouldn't have the savvy to do that.

I agree with Fad I think everyone is comparing very different cars to it, in terms of new cars I think there are cars you can buy for much less that are just as good if not better, VXR-R for instance...

M3 CSL (although after a tussle with one at Bedford I'm not as impressed as I previously was) and a whole plethora of Evos.
But Ford lovers will buy them the same as Scooby owners love a Richard Burns special or Vauxhall owners like chequers on their roof.
If you have a core following of nutcases people will pay the premium.

Does nobody think though, you can buy a fully specced up normal one, and spend the money you've saved from buying the special edition into making it look more or less exactly the same, but loads more power?

Yes.
Even more so, get an ST for 9k and fit a diff, exhaust, map, intercooler, coilovers and you have something as good as a standard RS and have enough money to buy another ST.
