exactly, at the moment its too easy for any imbecile to go to uni, then they qualify and wonder why they end up with a job stacking shelves in Tescos.
I genuinely believe people go into uni into a degree in mediastudys and expect to walk into a 60k per annum job
[Edited on 24-11-2010 by Steve]
My ex said this exact thing to me.
Slag: "Yes you're on good money but me putting a few extra years in & spending abit of money I'll be on £60k when I'm out"
Me: ""
Edit: Shes hating uni and she was/is considering quitting

It's not like its a normal loan that you have to pay off straight away. What is more frustrating and elitist is courses like the Law Practising Course that you do after a law degree, however it costs about 9k but you can't get a student loan. After this course you still aren't certain of a job which leaves people like my girlfriend doing similar jobs at work but for a lot less money as they can't get fully qualified.

Agreeing with you twice in a day.
Not happy with this.
On subject tho. I hope they all get banged up this time for rioting. Then they can slim their chances of getting a job a bit more.
And everyone thinks folk at uni are inteligent! Fuck off! Our lass is at uni and has the common sence of a spoon!

It's one thing being book smart, and quite another having common sense and grasp of reality.
Had plenty of graduates at our work that have ZERO sense of how things work in the real world.

Surely the police should be able to defend the car of a royal by whatever means. I.e. Shoot them....

Bit that made me laugh was they spoke too a group of black/asian lads on the news earlier and they were sayin they were protesting about the rise in uni fees and the fact they may cut EMA so ''they couldn't go too college''. Thing is this group of lads all had there faces covered and they all sounded like they were so fucking stupid they'd never make it too uni in the first place, let alone affording it.

If you're going to comment on how people are clever or stupid, at least get your spelling right.

I know several of the people involved in the protests, who I know have only gone there to cause trouble, mainly as they were too stupid to even get into uni.
Still. The overtime is nice

I wonder how many peoples opinions/attitudes on here would change if these riots where for petrol prices, etc.

Except in the grand scheme of things petrol isn't actually that expensive. For instance Bulmers (or what ever you'd rather) is around 2 quid a litre, compaired too the £1.20 a litre for regular unleaded. Now think 1L of fuel can get you 30-40 miles (say for an average car) where as 1L of Bulmers will last all of 5 or 10 minutes.
