De Gea played well! Rafael needs a basic lesson in football tbh The 5th best team in Spain outclassed United this evening.

Well impressed with Bilbao, good game and they completely bossed it. United were lucky with that pen late on. That Muniain kid looks amazing, shame those Basque's value there players so highly!

Yep look brilliant, i cant work out how some of these clubs havent managed CL a lot of them look better then some of the CL sides. Either that or they just up there game massively when they play some of these "better" sides.

Uniteds defences was shocking, as it has been pretty much all the time lately, same goes for a lot of other large clubs to, cant seem to produce good defenders any more.

Bilbao have improved seriously over the last few years, but they are still lacking the consistency and squad depth of some of the more established LL sides.

Agree about PL defences, most have deteriorated in recent years (United/Arsenal/Chelsea) and to have sustained european success (i.e. get to the semi/final each year) you either need to be so good going forward that defence isn't so much of an issue or be 100% solid at the back and play really compactly with your front 6 (1 reason why I hope benitez doesn't end up at Chelsea). I don't think any of the PL sides showed that in the CL this season, and it's an area they will all need to improve in before we see English CL winners again, barring some emphatic run of form.

Apart from the result last nights game was great to watch! Bilbao looked very impressive, iv never seen them play before and didnt know what to expect, they went for it for the full 90mins and looked excellent imo.

Really impressed with Da Gea's performance again, he's been doing great since the new year and you can tell from his interviews how much he wants to be united's no1 for his career, will be an awesome keeper, i hope so anyway.

Confident that we can get the win next week although we need to win by 2 goals really, should be a great game to watch either way
