Great Gatsby
Great story, appallingly written. Half the time I had no idea who was talking. Massive gaps in the story too (i.e. skips forward 3 months)

Agreed OrRob. Not the true classic people make it out to be. I think the film is going to make it appear a lot better than it really is. The "mysterious" Gatsby wasn't anywhere near as mysterious as they had you believe.

Catching Fire and Mockingjay.
A bit simplistic in the ideas, the basic story has been told a million times but well written, easy to read and kept me occupied so probably 7/10 for the trilogy.

Daemon by Daniel Suarez - Tech thriller, I liked it.
Although far fetched, a lot of it probably isn't too far off what is possible now.
Geeks will like it. it's 2 parter with the next one being Freedom, will get onto that next.

Started the A Song of Ice and Fire series and it's superb. One of if not the best book series I've ever read (so far).
A Game of Thrones - 10/10
A Clash of Kings - 10/10
A Storm of Swords - 10/10
I'm dreading getting to the end of the fifth book and knowing it'll likely take 10-12 years till I can read the end of the series.

Dont tell mum i work on a oil rig by paul carter! Excellent read about his life on rigs inland and offshore. Read his 2nd book as well about a piano house is a whore house or something like that. Shame for the poor monkey tho! 9/10

The VR6 engine as fitted to golf, corrado, sharan, jetta by Peter Russek.
9/10, had all the relevant info in a nice compact book, would have been 10/10 if the pictures were clearer and the general printing of the book was poor quality.

Its basically the ford galaxy V6 made by VW, the ford has a VR6 in it, and sometimes cheaper to go to ford for a part than buying a corrado part from VW
Think they sold it to Mercedes as well

I too found it annoying the way it was written.
It's a horrible story that just leaves you empty and feeling dirty. Hate that book! Saw the Redford film years ago zero interest in the Baz Gayman one.

Shocking i know but only just started reading stephen king books.
Just read
11.22.63
Its about a chap that can go back in time and change things but if he comes back to the past and goes back in time the first visit is reset.
He goes back to try and stop Lee Harvey Oswald killing JFK.
Goes into detail about the chaos effect and time travel etc etc.
Sounds a but boring but i literally couldn't stop reading it.
9/10.

Finished them all ages ago, excellent books but as said he takes his time writing them. He's been writing the next one for ages. Sadly I doubt he will ever finish it at this rate.
