It's a lovely motor mate. It has something that the silver/black 330's don't.

I wonder if the last generation celica got the same stick about being underpowered when it came out, even in 190bhp guise.

Trim isn't plain ally, I think it's individual as never seen it before I'll get close up.
Also fucking posted statement about celica under wrong topic
Won't be spending anymore on this car now.

How hard wearing is that silver trim??
My old E46 Compact had the same trim, but it peeled off just by looking at it. Was soft as shite.

It is not the normal silver trim. I will get a pic, it has a cubed effect. Must be pretty hard wearing as all of it is unmarked.

Right, after trialling it over the weekend the offside rear wheel is catching too much for my liking. It is not too bad with just me but with a passenger and some stuff in the boot its not good.
I do not want to go to a 215 which most of the E46 zone guys are running.
I have booked in for hunter alignment (was going to do this anyway) but I am going to ask for 0.5 negative camber on the rear.
does anyone know roughly how much extra distance this will give between the sidewall and the arch once it is dialled in?
will I potentially need to go more then -0.5 to get a few more mm of clearance?
As I understand it the only minus point of negative camber is that it reduces high speed straight line stability and potentially higher tyre wear on inside?
Thanks.

If the car is lowered im sure 0.5 degree (and sometimes standard from the factory) will be present anyway, i would say you would need quite a bit more to get the clearance your looking for.

Looks ilke you are right, I just pulled out the alignment report from when I had it done back in June.
Front Camber
Left : -0.56'
Right : -0.56'
Rear Camber
Left - 2.13'
Right - 2.08'
factory specs for rear camber are between 1.49' and 2.19'
I really think I only need a few mm extra clearance.

i'm sure another 0.5 degrees of camber won't hurt.

Yeah, I wonder what that .5 degree would equate to in extra clearance though.
I can see them charging me extra if they set it up with 0.5 then have to remove all the equipment, road test, find its not enough, get all equipment back on and set up again etc etc.
Might be better asking for a whole degree from the outset

I need an engineering student to do a calculation for me.
Apparently if you know the radius of your rim you can calculate how many mm from arch to tire wall based on the amount of camber in degees.
going to jack the car up first and double check where it is rubbing. Still seems bizare it is only one side.
