What if you do not do Traffic light Grand Prix's?

Or mid range torque based 60-100 races on dual carriage ways/motorways?

Last time I raced someone of the lights was in 2004. I was in my STi v4 and there was a Z4 owner next to me with his blonde bit of stuff looking at my car and laughing. He got the fuck destroyed much to his utter disbelief but that was the last time

dual carriage way racing, hmmm put your foot down in 5th in your 300lb/ft diesel and pull from 60-100 reasonably quickly... wow what a fucking rush man

So if you have an empty B road it's great, any other situation, not so good.

Yes agree 100%

I think I would be happy with that, just have to resist being baited on motorway or traffic light grand prix due to high risk of being raped.

Why not have a great drivers car with more than 200bhp though? Surely that will be better for every situation.

Would push the price past 30k probably.

This is supposed to be a cheap, lightweight, fun back to basics sports coupe.

Maybe we will see an STi version from Subaru but that would probably be £££

I dont buy that, Toyota could surely make an engine capable of porducing more power within reasonable cost, pretty certain they did with the celica?

Why buy a Z3 1.9 when you can have a Z3M?

Tbh I don't think the issue is the power. The weight/power/torque figures near as dammit match the Clio 200, tbh i get the impression the gear ratios are a lil bit too long for the engine.

Is the engine basically a N/A boxer engine?

Some chap will stick a STi engine in by xmas & will be deemed a hero on pistonheads.

whatever kind of weirdo question is that? I am not sure where you are coming from?

Compare the new retail values for those models for a start

My point is that it took a year for BMW to release the 2.8, then another year for the M.

How often does a manufacturer release the balls out 874bhp model at launch?

I think the boxer turbo has already been done. Bear in mind it's been out in Japan and USA for a while now

No one moaned about the corsa swing not having enough power when it came out, yet we all knew deep down when it had a gsi badge it would be a real drivers car

Yeah probably, gonna have a hunt and see what I can find.

Once they are 3 years old or so here if there is a tuner that does a good drive in/drive out conversion could be a good little package.

Seeing as the Clio is such a great drivers car, and has the same power, I think I will save myself 15k and buy one of them instead.

Fortunately MK only has traffic lights in 30mph zones. Might go and buy one now.

Buy a ph1 172 for a grand, put an exhaust on it and some matched inlets and you've saved 20k

My point was that people are saying it's fine the way it is.

In which case, their view would mean theres no reason to bring out a higher powered version.
