acusump - NOT a dry sump 
We dont have it anyway, but the car will be getting dry sumped.
The acusump system is basically a presurised supply (reserve) of oil that gets pumped in if a slow oil pressure is detected - to keep the engine lubricated.
I'm not a fan of them, but i've never used them.

Sorry if this question has been asked already, might have missed it as I'm on the blackberry.
How exactly did the roll happen on the gtr? Did it just get sideways then find grip and rollover? Or hit an apex which helped lift it? Just been watching the video trying to work it out

Birchieboy - She doesnt know exactly what happened, nor does the video give much insight (brakes, gears, steering)
BUT this is what I think happend...
She came round the long sweeping right at 110mph, a bit too hot and took a strange line in (tight to the right) which took her over the kerb that has a big hole (you can see/hear the car react over it - car unsettled). I think she then snatches at 3rd gearwhilst possibly standing on the brakes. I think this locks up the rear and the car wiggles a bit. The camber of the track then falls away to the outside (making the rear want to go that way), whilst she is steering into a slide. The front left then hits the raised MSA sausage kerb and pitches the car into the air. The rest is then over pretty quickly

From the in car footage (again watching in on my small screen blackberry) it doesn't look like there was any major drama, the car just casually roles over :/
Was there much mechanic damage? Or mainly just the shell?

May sound rediculous to someone with mechanical knowledge but would the engine being upside down and still running for a short time cause any kind of damage ?

if it ran for a long time, yes probably, but sump has a lot of capacity, and has a windage tray, baffles and gates... so wouldnt just empty. The revs were low too.
Not ideal, but its been checked and all is sweet.

An auto upside down cut-off? I've never heard of one of them.
An oil pressure triggered cut off, yes.
There are the required cut offs in the car and on the outside if thats what you are referring to... stops all power (pumps etc). Same with fire system.

you still need to be able to press it.... which isnt easy when rolling.
A kill switch is basically a button in some cars.

I understand the kill switch theng, i'm just surprised there isnt something out there that auto shuts off after a second of being inverted

A mercury switch would do it would it not? Mercury switch makes when car is upright, on it's roof, breaks contact?

It wouldn't be difficult (I'd be really surprised if there isn't one) to make a cheap switch that would be tolerant of sideways forces and bumps but cut the power when upside down.
Definitely a gap in the market if it's not already sold as a product for cars.

Would just need a simple Mercury switch and a N/C relay. Could be made out of bits from maplins.
