Only my local place - Pennington Flash.

Bashed out 13 miles. It's not very technical there, even for me, mainly stone/ dry mud bridal ways etc with short hills, so gets a but boring. Really dry and dusty which makes a change from last time I was there!

Need a new seat, even with padded shorts my arse was ragging. Didn't help with it being so dry and hard.

So I planned a quick ride from the Mrs house. Should have been about 12 miles. But I felt so good and weather superb that I went the long way home. 26 miles. Boosh.

Did just short of 15 mile today at whinlatter in the Lake District. Did the north red, stopped for a sandwich and a tea then did the blue straight into the south red to finish. Brilliant day out, in fact had 2 great days of biking.

What seats is everyone on? I've still got my Cube standard issue but its fucking painful after about 8 miles.

Last time out I doubled up with padded bibs and my padded MTB shorts but its too hot to double up now.

Always ridden WTB.

The MTB mags always say it is difficult to review and recommend saddles because it is very much a personal preference thing. So I'm out.

Never noticed this thread before, seems to be a few fellow mountain bikers on here, anyone ride Mid Wales at all?

Chucked in a 58 km ride yesterday, mainly off road but a few short sections of tarmac, some brutal climbs, 25% gradient road climb on the back end of the devils staircase (if anyone knows this part of Wales) being one of them, tiring especially with 40k in your legs already.

Will be back out tomorrow for a lap of Elan Valley depending on the weather, some great natural riding and a lot of steep grass climbs which is great for the legs.

Love the Brecon Beacons if you can class that as mid-Wales.

Do an MBUK Hard route which starts in Talybont and the final descent is after climbing up to the saddle at Fan y Big and Cribyn.

Sounds like Brecon Gap road, which is on my list to ride this summer, done most of the trail centres in Wales, would like to get up to Llandegla and see what all the fuss is about.

What sandwich did you have?
cumberland sausage in a brown baguette. Was really nice although priced at Lake District tax price.

Gooch is fine tbh.

Its more my arse round my arse bones. More bruised than sore. Theres fuck all padding on the standard issue Cube saddle.

Ordered an SDG Bel Air. Pretty cheap and after Liam mentioned them I did bit of research they get great reviews.

Can't be any worse.

Steady ride today, making the most of the weather before it rains tomorrow.
