No to be fair I would guess he spent less than a grand but like I say, it weighs a LOT less and was 150bhp which is a lot for something so light

Never seen an old person driving a Civic before

Like you said, you could fit anything you like under the bonnet (within reason) but when you drive down the road little old Mrs Hargreaves (age 72) from Number 33 Acacia Avenue will say "Oooh, i have one of them"

Small car with a 2 litre engine, see the similarities?

Fair enough fella - I don't claim the CTR is an almighty conqueror, there are alot of other cars out there which can do the business.

What I do have a good laugh at are some of the crazy and pure bollox comments which are often posted. If people accept reality a little more then all well and good.

I would never try it on with an FQ or similar, no point.

Also, this post was aimed at the attitudes of certain CTR drivers, namely you, who seem to front this merry band of inflated punks.

No I don't, and that is where people make mistakes!!!!

The 2.0 STi is still a 2.0l - totally different class of performance.

So you can get a Corsa with a 2.0 engine, a chassis which couldn't support sweet FA without some serious modification and a Vauxhall badge to rub salt into the wounds.

No, I see no similarities at all.

So you having a dig at anything with a Vauxhall badge now
the Corsa chassis is more than capable of supporting a 2.0 Turbo, nevermind the 2.0 NA. LuckyB's old Corsa did 0-60 in 4.9secs, and the 1/4 in a very low time indeed. that was a 2.0.

Oh please, now my feelings are well and truly shattered.

As a few of the owners on the CTR forum have said - Santa Pod is a nice place to put things right, not on the public road.

Fine - but why spend all of the £££ to make a Corsa do that???

Look, anyone can throw a bundle of money at a car and make it faster than it should go.

The CTR is quite easily one of the best sub £20k performance cars available. In standard form it is an incredible car.

Modifications are available and plenty have been done. Come to the forum and have a look around.

what for? there is a CTR on every corner in the UK. See more ITR's over here though. I just dont see what your problem is? it is a capable car, but its not incredible. Perhaps something from Stuttgart is incredible, but not a common Honda.

Are you for real? Santa Pod is where your likely to be handed your arse on a plate

CTR's are absolute shite up the strip coupled with the fact they are driven by fairies who can't drive = absolute crap 1/4 mile times for a car with 200bhp.
