i know your not driving the car around etc, but when it is i cant imagine that the air filter would be sucking in that much cold air sitting there

I was thinking that, need to get a silcone elbow for it, and a cold air feed.

Moved it from the carpark to my house today, for the first time in months. First task, jump start it, as the battery was dead
Then I removed the exhaust from the cat back, as it was blowing loads. Heres why
;
Then I tried out the meguiars 3 stage kit & clay bar, and damn, this stuff is the shit. Pic doesnt show it, but its so shiny now, and so smooth
Before:
After:
Now it sits, waiting for the welding & brakes to be done, and its sorted
Got some 2.0 calipers on the way, at this moment in time ive spent £409.96 on it in the past week or so, will go up as I need a new centre section & backbox, plus other wee bits.

Front of the car is now on axle stands, and the calipers & disks are off. Shall pop the hoses off tomorrow, and get the arse end on axle stands too, maybe get the drums ripped off.

The bits that need welded
Drivers rear 1
Drivers rear 2
Passenger rear 1
Passenger rear 2
Passenger rear 3
Passenger rear 4 (Big motherfucker, easy fix though)
All of the above will be plated up easy, will be done within an hour probably.
Now, the chassis legs
Good one, passengers side
Bad one, drivers side
And of course the cross-member:
Shouldnt take too long to fix it all, easy welding.

Aye, its a bastard, but its fixable, and with the ammount of time Ive spent on it, it needs to be finished
Id say it will take a total of 10 hours work to get it roadworthy, 1 hour each night after work, should be done by novmeber tbh

Quite a big update, as its stuff thats fixing the car, and major looks wise
Firstly, my brothers GSI is definatly being split, and im having loads of bits from it.
- Whole rear beam, with new drums, shoes, cylinders, hand-brake cables etc
- Front & Rear anti-roll bars
- Front bumper, fogs & loom
- Side skirts
- Full GSI interior, and all black plastics
Yay.
Also, front doors now have RCL fitted, just need to figure out how to get the wires through the door into the car
Pic update soon.

Fairly big progress today, ball-joints & cross-member are off, just needs the new one welded in now, track-rod ends done, then full front brakes, then thats the front done.
Then its off with the rear beam, do the welding, put the new rear axle on, with new lines & hoses.
GSI will be getting split at the weekend, so interior will be fitted soon. GSI front & skirts will hopefully be getting painted soon too.
New tyres are getting fitted & balanced tomorrow
Coming on quickly now
