Phil took the sump off and found a nice present in the pickup..
So full rebuild time as big ends were worn. Will be cutting it fine for pvs, but atleast I can freshen everything up whilst engine and box are out.
Head off..
All out, time to tidy everything up...
Painted the rocker cover..
Bottom end stripped and freshened up..
Cross member and lower bay painted..
That about all I've got in pictures.
Mounts have been sent off to the powder coaters and I've started to prep the engine bay.. I'll be painting it gloss black.
Lots to do and still haven't received the turbo yet
It's booked in at the rollers on the 4th June to get wideband & ecu fitted then ran in.
Comments welcome

Cheers for the comments lads - I like how the rocker cover turned out too!
Turbo turned up yesterday
Need to get some oil feeds made up next.
Philip2 has built the bottom end - polished crank, steel rods, arp's...
Mounts are back from the powder coaters on Tuesday
Both off work Wednesday & Thursday next week, so going to be busy..
I'll be prepping the bay whilst he's doing some headwork
Will be running new brake pipes from cylinder, then it can all be put together and then off to the rollers on Saturday for wideband, setting up & running in.
Will get some pictures on Wednesday to update..

Due an update I think..
Drove it for the first time yesterday. Running the engine in for a couple hundred miles on the road before it goes back to the rollers to play with boost and timing.
Taking it from where I left off..
Wastegate
A bit of pipe for the screamer
Ripped all the sound deadning from the bay and painted it gloss black. Fitted new brake lines from the cylinder and routed them under the scuttle.
Steel rods and ARP's fitted
Mounts back from the powder coaters
Flocked plug cover courtesy of AutoFlock!
Cambelt cover..
Work on the head
Cometic gasket
Bottom end in
Head on
Twin turbo?
Cam cover on
Pipes connected
Nearly there
Some pics outside, on the way to the RR..
I lined up the intercooler and rad properly last night and fitted the bumpers and scuttle, but the whole car needs a good clean and tidy up.
I'll take some decent pictures when I've finished.
The screamer pipe is ridiculously loud when it kicks in, and the rev's build stupidly quick.. I'll have to get some drive by videos
