If you've complied and sent them off your license then it will come through.
It will only time out if you ignore them & they dont get their act together & get a court summons in time. Ive done it successfully twice now.

My mate from college got caught doing 98 in a 50, just coming off the motorway onto a sliproad, im not sure what they used to clock him, he got a solicitor, got my college tutor to write a letter, his work place to write a letter saying he needs his licence for his job (mechanic) blah blah blah. Licking they're arses basically.
Went to court and got off with a 28 day ban, no fine, no points. License handed back to him.
I got caught doing 39 in a 30 2 months or so after i passed my test. It is so easy to get caught and scared the hell out of me getting 3 points so soon. 3 more and I lose my license as still within 2 years of passing, as said there is a time and a place for it.

all you can say is how you need your car for work n stuff just be honest you never know... people have got away with far higher speeding than 102 like that simon perry ended up just getting points and a big fine but he didnt get banned he was doing nearly 150mph

Lad I work with got caught doing 105mph on the Newbury bypass. Had he got banned, he would have been fined £600 but He got off in the basis he needed to drive for work, the MD of our company wrote to the judge to say if he loses his license he loses his job too. He got let off with 6 points and a £1000 fine, plus about £1000 for a specialist lawyer...

Because he thought he would lose his license and a the lawyer only dealt with getting people off lightly with potential speeding bans...not your big standard lawyer, found loopholes etc...

Well, I went to court, same thing. Got caught doing over 110 supposedly according to the officer. Got a 28day ban and a £300 fine. To me, getting a lawyer involved just says "im guilty as fuck and need help getting out of this shit"

Didnt read the whole thread but noticed you wanted to say that you think your speedo is out. That wont stand because its YOUR responsibility to make sure its correct.
Cant do the time, dont do the crime.

Also technically, couldn't they say if thats the case your driving without due care and attention as you may think your doing 30mph but really doing 50mph say?

id personally dont send anything off as that just says 'im guilty' IF you go to court say u dont believe that u were doing that sort of speed becuase your a new a driver and would do that etc and also ask for a caibration certificate of the said speed gun that caught u soon as u hint something that the public dont generally know they tend to kinda back off, but personally stay quiet and just pray theyve forgotten, u might of been lucky THIS time just remember to watch it next time, everyone speeds and coppers realise that, if it does go to court be very polite and say your sorry etc and how much you need your license blah blah blah and u might get off lightly, everytime ive been tugged ive pleaded bit dumb and apologetic but then thats kent police lol
