I did notice how little amount of Corsa's there were on the CS stand @ Trax I have to admit.

I don't use WR as that has always seemed very track orientated and I'm not particularly interested in that - it's not something I'll be using the Mini for anyway tbh.

I guess I don't really view CS as a Corsa forum these days, more as a bloody good all round car forum as others have said.

Definitely think a WR logo up the top as a link is a good idea, and as for rebrand, I don't know, in some ways it makes quite a lot of sense!

I think alot isto do with the different style of mods the B and the C has

if you look at the majority of Bs they are subtle and performance orientated, where as alot of C and D`s are the more smooth euro kind of style which more often than not gets slated on here

these are just my observations btw

i find it a bit strange how you can win stand of the show at pvs, then have people tell you it needs to be rebranded to accomodate them within a couple of months of that. its crazy.

get new members. welcome new members. if older members arent prepared to do that, then its hardly a growing community and basically just a giant sub-forum'd offday.

fair play if you quit it all together. its the only solution that may work anyway.

how many posts about your bottom arms are there on the puma site? passion ford?

to behonest the same as on here, iv posted about my lower arms everywhere

im perfectly happy to move to WR if it gets as busy as here

This is why i come on corsasport, for things like this that brighten up the day, seeing people you generally know and what there doing to there cars. The community as a hole is what CorsaSport is.

How many shows have you been to supporting Corsasport Barnes? None?

Keep CS as CS, its got 10yrs+ history, would be a shame to drop it on its nose!!

WR should be opened up to more than just track, make it more widespread to cover all angles, move non cosra owners profiles & garages over & i''d be delighted to move over, not a problem!!

Just as crazy as declaring that if you took a corsa to PVS with CS you would be the only person there. A few months after CS winning stand of the show.

I agree with Colin on Weekend racer, I will go on a track but for me I have an interest in driving as a whole, Id like a section about good driving routes and roads ect

its not every week members will have a trackday to write up about, I reckon most of us go out for a blast quite often?

If you think that's bad...
You should see what happened to Rob B when he posted on s2ki about modifying cars. They gave him so much abuse, a lot of it personal about his family members etc... was totally uncalled for.

s2ki is generally an older audience and they're upset that younger people are buying the car they like... Obviously that's another forum that will die out - especially since s2000's are no longer produced.

Yeah, was hilarious that thread. Then when i post the pictures up of it done everyone bums it.

I also think weekend racer sounds a bit cruiserish and not really appealing to wider market as such. I know it's only a name but it just sounds a bit, well young really.

Im interested in track but not enough to loiter around a dedicated forum, so I dont use WR.

But, define for me what a weekend racer is??? Could be anything if you think about it. I say make it into a generic web forum covering all brands with a strong emphasis on track & M/sport.

Make it into a carbon copy of CS, same layout etc but with:

General car chat, or Road car chat instead of General Corsa Chat

Track Day, instead of Offday.

Ok, not great examples but you get the idea.

Have one massive push from all the members & a sticky on CS instructing all non-corsa owners to migrate to their new home.

Ian.....you do something along those lines & I honestly believe you will achieve what you are hoping to.

I like CS for everything except the corsa element, it is crazy when you think about it

Have just posted a few topics with information i found very informative at the time. I think generally that's the sort of stuff along with project cars that need to be posted.

Also WR must organise an open pitlane event. That's generally how all-torque started off, going to trackdays with stickered up cars and they've become huge now.

layout should deffo be the same, but use orange instead of blue, think its a bit of a big step telling all non Corsa owning members to jog on, that would cause a major problem with premium memberships, you could say transfer it over to WR but then I have a couple of threads in PL that I have a keen interest in

Are the topics of keen interest composed by corsa owners or non??

I'm sure all the juicy/good stuff will come over with the site migrate anyway

If the Premium services bit can be transferred over then its all good?

If WR is made exactly like this then very few people will have a peoblem moving. Then again you cant make everyone happy so maybe they do need to jog on!!

I think some threads should be duplicated now. Then by doing that, people may end up posting on WR and eventually get into the mindset of checking WR and CS.

The thing is when i join a new forum, if i see threads like the whole of GC with 1 - 2 replys i generally end up not revisiting. It needs to be made active and Paul/Steve's idea of duplicating threads is a good one IMO

thats it though. most of those threads id read on here, and enjoy reading looking at pics and vids etc.

the only change that needs to happen on here is to get more new corsa owners to sign up and begin posting so when it comes to events, there are enough people to go and do them.

More corsa folk will join here if the riff-raff git tae....WR.

I'd imagine any new member joining CS takes a look in GC & wonders whats going on. Rare to see more than 2 corsa themed threads on page 1 at any one time.

Give us a new home & both forums can be a success. WR just needs some tweeks to make it desirable.

Ok, having just logged onto WR for the 1st time in god knows when....prob over a year.

1st impressions.......

Front page......Looks like half a website thats still to be finished. Theres not enough content.

Dont like the colour scheme, ok my cars luminous green but I like something easier on the eyes for web viewing.

2 members online.......both who are probably going through the same motions as myself. (CS at this minute has 75 Visitors - 27 Guests and 48 Members )

Post's - theres only been 15 posts in 2 weeks.

Inner content........only really projects section generates enough interest to click any further.

The smiley icons are shit, theres no avatars, no premium options. Like for like it really is a tiny speck on the surface of what CS is.

WR really needs a lot of work to make it as good as here. Could be as big as here though without a doubt....bigger even as if its as awesome as here but without the corsa stigma attached (most folk wouldnt get why I use CS) outsiders would flock!!

This forum has evolved naturally, seems crazy to want to ringfence it by putting up militant parameters.

The laid back feel of this site and it's ease of use is the reason it works, surely there's more to a forum than turnout for track days?

I dont think its a problem to move should Ian want to get the focus back onto corsa's. However the place we go would need to be as good as here for it to work.

Does it really matter if you type in corsasport.co.uk or weekendracer.co.uk if 99.9% of everything else remains the same?

Should just have a changeover date....like digital TV.

Say like on XX/XX/2010 every member that says AYE gets locked from here & reinstated on WR.

I agree in a way, there are enough members with normal cars to change the layout but keeping the threads identical.

So if someone types in weekendracer, the forum comes up with that in the top right hand corner and maybe a different colour scheme. And if they type Corsasport it appears the same. That way you keep the traffic of CS, keep the 50% members that don't have a Corsa aswell
