cheers for the comments everyone.

pagey - ive had a read into the sard regulators and it seems they are a bit hit and miss with the quality be fake or genuine. mine looks genuine but started leaking once id put some load through it.
i've gone for a weber alpha 0-5 bar adjustable reg now and plan to put a gauge on the dash so i can keep an eye on the fuel pressure all the time.

Right people, big massive overdue update time!

I havn't had chance to update this for a while, had a few problems at home but still been working on the car when I can.

I'll try and carry on from where I left off with the few pics I've got.

Got the battery mounted in the boot. I used a battery tray from a 1.6 sport (bolted in rather than welded in like the gsi battery tray) so Ive just bolted it it the spare wheel well. Also I've used a circuit breaker about a 12 inch from the battery incase the wire running to the engine bay ever gets damaged, dont want a fire on my hands lol.

Next was sorting out the leaking fuel pressure regulator. I went for a weber alpha 0-5 bar adjustable reg instead of the crap leaky sard one, much much better quality set it at 3.2 bar to be safe untill I get it set-up properly.

And the reason I had to get a new drivers seat. new one now fitted but no pics yet.

I also bought another pas pump so I now have working switchable power steering!

Finished engine bay pics.

All washed and waxed ready for MOT

Passed the MOT 1st time with no advisories, MOT tester was well impressed said it's 'solid that is mate' lol which pleased me.

Next up was to use and abuse it, and abuse it I did. So much so that I destroyed the differential in the f28 within 100 miles of driving it so I'm in need of a new gearbox now all good fun though, ill fix it soon watch this space.

As gutting as it is, it's deffo going to be worth the effort/money to replace the box now i've drove it.

thanks for looking, Stayed tuned folks, new gearbox next!

cheers guys!

Darryl - it got driven alrite lol, and will do even harder once ive got a stronger box in it

JedDy - I can only compare the mounts to the standard ones i had fitted in my old xe corsa, they seem to do the job imo, just going to see how long they last really but deffo worth the effort for how much its costs.

Brakes look awesome behind the mo's, that SARD you had might have been a fake, so many around, never had a problem with mine, but the weber will be good anyway, keep the updates comin

Last week I got the tools out again to find what is wrong with my f28.

Engine bay looked like this before work commenced.

Then strippage began

1 c20let and knackered f28 out.

Which left my nice neat engine bay looking like this lol.

And a close-up of a fly on my oil cooler showing it must gets some airflow lol.

Box inspection next when I get the time.

Can the box not be removed on its own mate? Seems a lot of work to go to to remove a box.

Good progress anyway mate, cant beat rolling about on the driveway
