My Range Rover costs enough when it goes wrong so I dread to think what an old ferrari would cost to maintain!!!

yes - and plenty of them prob have 20+k cars

That should tell you something pretty major.

IF YOU HAVE TO SAVE FOR 5 CUNTING YEARS TO GET 20K YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO OWN/RUN A FERRARI in the real world at this point in time.

You could buy it and keep it in a garage, yes.
Use it during summers - not if you have a 'budget' allowance.

In 5 years time you will no doubt have more money aswel as different dreams - so I see where you are going with the saving thing - just not the Ferrari in the title.

Not to mention what parts will require to be replaced in so many years time.

I think once you reach 20k you wont look at anything ferrari. I think you will realise how long you have saved for and decide against an old car that wont suit your lifestyle and budget to keep it running.

I think you should change your goal to reach 20k and from there do what you want.

I remember wasting hours doing races on gran turismo 1 to buy certain cars / parts and when i eventually reach what i needee i would always change my mind because it took so long to get there.
