Wow 7 pages since I left work, and still no valid arguments as to why one is better than the other.
I think we have determined though that 'better' is massively open to interpretation. Some people think bigger screens are better, some don't, some people think being able to customise everything is better, some like it how it is out the box, some like it to be lighter and made of plastic, some would rather it be made of premium materials.
The only difference is how many people 'some' equates to and figures show iPhone wins hands down.

Some people worry too much about what phone they have. It's a phone, if somebody doesn't like the phone I have then I suggest they don't buy one

You'd need to get sales per country figures of both and eliminate countries where both phones aren't sold to do a direct comparison. Using the reported global sales figures doesn't give an accurate representation as, from my knowledge and by all means correct me if i'm wrong, the iPhone is available in more countries than the SG2.

Not sure on that but on the flip side I know the iPhone is still only available on certain networks in certain countries.
