Has that not been my point all along

As I've said over and over again, if you are doing it as a job, anything that makes it a bit easier on you and helps get consistent results every time, might be priceless. For a guy in his garage, that's not required.

Just to clarify my point wasn't that you had to have an expensive polisher, just that there is an important difference between an angle grinder and a polisher.

The cheap polisher bogging down under pressure could be a good thing for DIY too, should stop you applying to much pressure and damaging the paint.

there is a thread on detailing world where you can make on witha 9.99 12v drill and a 6.99 uv bulb. works just as good alot of them on there use them.

bit of a difference from the 395 for that over priced torch.

Basically yeah a £13 drill from B&Q taken apart with a 12v lamp holder and a fancy projector lamp for £7 does exactly the same job

Yup i'm totally with Steve on that one. All that is, is a bathroom downlighter built into a battery drill casing Shamelessly so in fact, look at the replacement bulbs. £47.50 thats gotta be easily a 1000% 'pro detailing' mark up

I can just about allow them the battery, decent quality high capacity batteries aren't cheap. Look at the price of some of the LiPos used in Drones/RC gear.

That being said they give fuck all details so for all I can see it could be NiCad/NiMh.

Lets say the price for the bulb and the battery are indeed reasonable (not convinced) but anyway, that leaves £272 for what? a plastic case and some wires to connect it all together

Plus you wouldn't need lithium battery's FFS so that's a con in itself.

Corsa nut makes a valid point actually, you wouldnt need Lithium batterys anyway.

So its a 10-15 quid nicad/nimh battery, a 15 quid bulb, 5 quids worth of electronics and a £365 drill casing
