SSN just said about a £20m move for a Bayer striker to Chelsea... which would surely mean they'd let Sturridge go.

And as Nath just said, Dempsey wants us, can't see us signing both. I'd be happy with DS to be honest, as long as we don't go into a bidding frenzy and buy him for £35m it would be a good deal.

Thats not a bad price, we need a goalscorer..
Definately cant see us buying DS in that case, he'll be 12-13m at least. Doubt we'll be spending £20m today, loan deal maybe.

I think we'll get Dempsey for less than that (if we have any sense ), unsettled at Fulham and clearly wants to join us, so we should be able to negotiate it down. I'd be happy for him to come to us as a short term solution to help us get back into the CL.
I reckon Chelsea would be after £15m for Sturridge which is far too much and the reason why we're probably only looking to loan him.
