Big update! 23/12/2011

The time has come and i've bought a new engine. I've gone with the C20XE. The early dizzy type. Found one on Ebay for a reasonable price and it's done 87,000 which i think is good as alot of these are now getting worn out.

It's out of 1993 Astra GSi so it's not been modified or anything, all standard and hopefully not ragged. I've put a deposit on so he can keep it for me and when i've got enough money together me and Ash are going to nip up in the Frontera and trailer.

The engine come's with :

F20 Gearbox
All componants
All mounts
4 branch manifold
Loom
ECU
All sensors
Driveshafts
Oil cooler

Really can't wait to get started on it and get it all painted up and looking fresh. Hopefully be to the standards as the exterior. Not bothered about modifying it in anyway yet. Want to feel the power as standard and then add extra power when i'm bored. The bay will all be welded and then sprayed up. Not bothered about this smoothing stuff, like the original stuff. Obviously get rid of things in bay i don't need.

Also this is all new to me regarding conversions, obviously helped Ash (1999corsa b) with his and did learn alot but i'm stil learning so any help would be appreciated.

I'm going to start stripping bits of my 1.2 tomoz, all air feed,MAF,header tank, hoses and probs radiator. I'll get all pics up tomoz and let you know how i've gone on.

Anyways, here's the picture from the Ad :

Dan.

good luck on that one mate

will be good once it's all in and that. you gonna change the gaskets and belts etc before putting it in? would seem like a wise thing to do.

also, i doubt you'll get bored of the 148bhp or whatever they are compared to your 65 raging ponies you currently have.

"Wax off,wax on" Mark.

Cheers Kev mate, same here,i can't wait to just get it bolted in.

Just fitting it as it is,not bothered about making it that bit quicker as standard bhp is plenty from driving 1.2's for the past 3 years. I'm using the ectoec pipe aswell mate.

It sure is dude!

Irm no not really for exterior, wanting some new front seats and a cage. That's about it. The engine will complete it imo.

Also be great to have the XE's together at PVS.

Thanks Kie.

Cheers Scott, i will do.

Update time again 24/12/11

Today me and Ash started stripping bits of the 1.2 engine. So we got the front end in the air and wheels off and started. Upto now we've taken the header tank off,all hoses to radiator, battery, air feed, inlet etc.

Going to get the engine out monday day and then start work on the bay. Mostly getting rid of all the rust and getting some primer on and gettin it sprayed up.

Here's some pictures :

Started off like this

Also here's a pic of my harnesses

Airbox off

Bumper off,radiator off,header tank off

And this is how i've left it for tonight

And this is there new home, the bedroom

Dan
