Why? Wear them under baggy shorts and no-one will ever know.

imho not wearing padded undershorts because someone might take the piss is like not wearing a helmet for the same reason.

massively uncomfortable. I dont feel comfortable in most clothing because of how restrictive they are in the crotch area

so its not just the fact i'd look like a rent boy

i'd rather just grin and bare it

I dont have a cyclists body, or suit lycra lol ....but there is no way I would go out now without bib shorts on under normal sports clothes .... tight bib shorts have padding and stop any irritation.

Trust me - saddle sores are not fun - you will get them if you have loose fabric rubbing against your skin

Got a nice ride lined up after work tonight. Ambleside, Loughrigg, Elterwater, Loughrigg Terrace, Rydal Water and back to Ambleside. Top weather for it

Finally picked up my new bike today. Its nothing mega expensive as I'm not planning on hard core down hill stuff lol. Comes with hydraulic disc brakes and the lockout front suspension which is pretty decent for a £300 bike. Really need to loose weight so hopefully this will help lol.

Have you ever ridden in any? Your response suggests not so your view is based on what?

I've got a pair of full length padded cycling trousers. The best £12.99 i've spent on anything to do with my bike tbh

I've not worn any that are uncomfortable or tight around the nether regions. If anythink the chamois makes it loose and there you look like you've poo'd yourself.

I recommend the Endura mesh undershorts. Bargain RRP of about £23. Or buy the Hummvee shorts which comes with liner.

Good starter bike. Now go out and get amongst some hills! Try a trail centre and I bet you get hooked on it

Did 36 miles this evening - I don't understand how that wind got so brutal as soon as I got on the bike, or how it changed direction everytime I went around a bend - seemed like at least 30 miles were into a headwind

Went out on my MTB last night, first time in a while.

After about 2 miles when I used the front brake sounded like something was getting stuck in my spokes. On closer inspection the caliper had come loose and when I was applying the brakes it was twisting round into spokes, hence the noise.

Didnt have my tool with me so just used the rear break which was hilarious, skids ahoy

Must of been a night for brake problems Had to stop 20 minutes in to our ride cos my rear brake was stuck on. Had to push the piston back and let a bit of brake fluid out. It's not been right for a while but it's spot on now

32.3 miles this evening. By far the best conditions I have cycled in this year. My plan for June is to start to enjoy going uphill, and start picking routes with more elevation to get ready for the hell that I expect Cornwall/Devon to be next year .... So tonight I picked a route that took in as many hills as I could find around here.... Took a full half an hour out of the time it took me to do this route in Febuary so I'm well chuffed with that. Pretty much fell off the bike when I got back ... now enjoying some pretty nasty cramp .... gonna have a couple of days off now then go for something big at the weekend.
