corsa nut, my thoughts at the moment are because you have had an impreza you will be disappointed with a FWD N/A hot hatch for reasons already mentioned in this thread.

The fabia VRS has good remap potential, with some coilovers, neuspeed ARB`s will be a decent handler as well. i remember top gear racing one agaisnt a new mini cooper and the fabia had a lot more pace but it body rolled its arse off. negative point of this is shit loads of torque and FWD = traction problems but you`ll still have nice fat low down torque that you are accustomed to.

The S3 is going to give you best of both worlds as its 4WD. but out of your options the running costs are substantially greater although not as high as an impreza.

mav you should tell her you think your volvo stands a good chance against, watch her face as to how anything like that can possibly be as fast.

This is what i call the CTR arrogance factor

Think the S3 might be a bit TOO much Set The MPG on my old A3T was pretty bad so the S3 would be even worse. Not to mention if anything goes wrong.

Fabia is still in the running but i'll see what the Civic's like today

At the end of the day i've owned and driven enough cars to have a proper opinion and not just jumped out of my first car ie a corsa and think they are the best in the world.I've come from a scooby so if it don't impress me i won't be buying one

probably will bemore if you rag it, but how are you planning on driving?

some say the extra power means you dont have to put your foot down as much, or change down as much making it better on fuel

I'll be doing pretty much the same driving as i did in my A3T mate i suppose.I just drove that normal with the very odd blast and the MPG was always around 25 and lower.

Not 100% sure mate..it had been in a front end smash but i don't see that doing much.Boost pipe had a split in it for a day till it was repaired but that was about it.Think with the turbo spooling up on them so early there always in 'the zone' no matter how you drive?

My 106 is quicker than a CTR...

That should be enough to make you not buy one...
