Golfs are bland Euro boxes with no style and no sense of occasion when driving them!
Now a BMW on the other hand..........

ojc's is much newer than yours though? so how does that argument work ?
iirc his is an 08 reg. if you were to buy an 08 reg golf gti when he did (brand new i think), it would cost a hell of a lot more to get a car with the same equipment from vw.
i was trying to come accross with the point that im by no means a snob as i could only muster 5k for a car. and that a couldnt afford a new 1 so couldnt give a fuck how much they cost

Italian cars have flair and a sense of occasion.
Golfs are good for doing the shopping in.

My comment comes from 2yrs experience of VAGs. Not a day went by where there wasn't a problem

I don't own a Punto. Plus the GP's are a very nice motor
I so find it funny how brainwashed some VAG drivers are

Only over-rated by morons, they are pretty reliable but you get shitters like you do with any marque. All cars have weak points, if you buy any car expecting no trouble then you are stupid. Even if Dave down the pub says they are 'bomb proof'
I'll stand by my opinion that VW produce much better put together cars than Vauxhall, but you pay the price. But thats life, people buy expensive clothes when Topman can do the same, same with anything but thats how it is.

It is pretty dire yes, not bad for cheapo essentials but I wouldn't buy my wardrobe there. Same as I wouldn't buy my cars from Vauxhall

I'm not saying VAG are amazing and I detest the whole VAG 'scene' but all my VAGS have been excellent, if you had problems with one you've bought a bad one, in general they are good cars no matter how bland your personal opinion of them is.
To add incase anyone is being serious about old BMW's, I would 100% genuinly rather drive a corsa.
