Cool, what box would you recommend going for?

It's been discussed throughout this thread.

If you can't be bothered doing any research at all you could at least read on here.

Clearly not, we've all bought the same box for starters and discussed what we'll move up to.

So if you've read through this you're a bit slow.

Most of us are new to this so my only experience is based on the openbox s11. I wouldn't say it was easy to setup but when I finally got it going I realised it is pretty damn simple it's decent, it's not brilliant when you want to go surfing channels and to find out what's on, but it does the job I want it to do which is allow me to watch hd movies and sport cheaply. I won't be ditching my sky box and sub in a hurry as its a nightmare for everyday use really. Probably need to invest in a dream box

Got good reviews on d-k. Any good tutorials on setting this up with card sharing?

Sat4all were about the cheapest I could find and it's a genuine box. First one was faulty, they replaced though.

How are you finding uk-sat's server? Seen on a few cardshare sites there highly rated for service.

Very happy with it Only problem at the mo is, I'm conencting it through the net using ICS via my PC that's hooked up to the TV and the damn thing will turn off the ICS if it's left idling for a while Gonna have to move the router I guess, better all round.

Also, I was a bit wary due to these points about the interface being crap or something on the OpenBox? I actually find it pretty good. Obviously the main downside is the channel numbers don't directly relate to what we're used to, but I've got them all setup in catagories nicely (movies/kids/music/etc). Yes, the EPG doesn't work tho, can only do now and next on each channel, but I've got the TV guide on my phone so no biggie.

You can remap the channels (Boquette?) to the Sky one's can't you? Just takes a bit of pissing about.

I can't remember any of the channel numbers anyway so having then sorted into categories is fine.

The openbox interface is actually pretty quick, just nowhere near as polished as Sky.

iirc if you go on the menu, it's the furthest right option, then the second one down, then you enter the server, username, pass, etc. Could be wrong, just going off memory, can't remember the names.
