See people are pointing out places they are saving money. But if like me you have a car that's not great on fuel, paying 70 euros a night for accomodation, doing 10 laps or so sometimes more, then it adds up, that's why I always say the price depends on so many things. It can be a cheap holiday if you want

I'm not planning on spending thousands.
Fuel you can't really avoid but it's only the same as eating out and going out on the lash over here.
19€ for steak compares to UK prices.
I think beer is comparable etc.?

You book a ferry & hotel, then you drive there. It really is simple, when you've done it once you'll wish you'd done it ages ago. I know I did

No, the place isn't massive. You will either be in Adenau or Nurburg.

Went beginning of Sept for weekday evening session for 3 days. Great place and as mentioned before it's definitely an experience that you can't really describe to people that haven't been. Can see where the apprehension comes from to go out there and that's exactly why I hired out a car to take round knowing full well if I crashed I only had to fork out the excess (albeit 2500 euros).
Would love to go back, but would still not take my car round the Ring, unless it was a Track Day. The hired Suzuki Swift was the perfect car to take round and enjoy the experience and then go blag yourself a passenger ride in something a "little" faster
That said there are some absolute knobs that go round, perfect example this biker deciding to do a burnout....midcorner
