Theres people on here who spend £3k on a watch that tells the time, and i've got a £250 one that does the same. I'm in a better position IMO. Granted, I could have got a £25 but hey ho.

Not really because most of those £3k watches are worth roughly the same, if not more second hand and will last for decades.
As soon as DKNY isnt a fashionable perfume the watch will be worth fuck all.

Why but a 25k Audi when you you can buy a hyundai that does the same?
You can only use that if everything you ever buy is the cheapest possible.
There's absolutely no reason to spend 3k on a watch unless you want to, whatever the budget though, there's always better than a clothing brand.

I don't buy a watch as an investment, I buy it so I know the time. If it breaks, I throw it away and buy another.

If you don't like watches then you are 100% correct Ben, the £100 is a better option.
The £6000 one is 99% of cases will still be better, just not for you personally.
I wouldn't be paying £750 a month mortgage then buying a car for £25k cash, that's just me though.

I drive about 800 miles per week for work. Therefore the added comfort, performance and mpg from my diesel Audi is a worthwhile investment.
I have 2 kids. I couldn't transport my 2 kids and all their gear around in a Matiz.

Because tyou'd be a mug to be paying the massive extra interest on your mortgage when you could have put that £25k into equity but instead you buy a £25k that will just lose money year on year.

You're hardwork... The point is what is 'equivilent' you're arguing that a £25 watch is just as good as a £2500 watch because it tells the time but on the other hand a £2500 car isnt as good as a £25000 car even though they both do the same job?
