Always wonder why people talk such tripe and big up their own wealth on the Internet so much. Pretty sad if you have to lie to make your life sound better. This thread is full of those people.

Its a never ending circle in my eyes, after 3-5yrs of owning a modern car most people will start again with another modern car, because suddenly the nice £20k motor that you thought would end all your motoring worries has become a burden and a worry because you might have to pay some £300 to fit a £50 part.

I'm just a poor pauper like Nic really, but imo we are the real winners

This is why the main dealers love you tease you into their hands with all of thise 'wonderful looking offers' and why banks and credit card companies bombard you; because they know its a never ending cycle of draining you of your hard earned cash.

If making a sound and wise investment is being a cheap twat, then I guess you are a cheap twat.

I think this is just almost apart of the culture now.

If it's newer and the numbers are bigger then it's obviously better and you must have it now !

It's a never ending circle because a lot of people want a nice new car every 3 years. Should they not be allowed to do that the same as you are allowed to have your 200k mile shitbox?

Davey has 20k in the bank because he's never bought a straight car and still doesn't understand the difference between someone who can't count and buys a 2k car for 8k over 7 years, and the people that have bought a car for a far price.

So when you get to end of the loan and you own the car does that mean you still can't afford it?

No mate, because by then you'll need a £300 part so will obviously spend another £20k on a new car.

Sounds to me like it's people in a whole load of debt that are trying to justify their actions

I did say "in my eyes"

Not my problem if you don't agree

its those who can fix or build a car themselves that are winning.

In my opinion of course.

So true !

Time you pay off the loan for that super reliable car you own it will be 3 years old and totally useful and therefore it shall be loan time again and you shall need something better.

Can't think of a time I've paid any more than parts to fix a car, most of the time not even parts. I'm normally not driving about in an old shitter either, although I am just now and it's still not cost me anything.

Its nice of you to make your feelings known John but please dont just make things up.

I do not own any shitboxes, nothing with even 100k let alone 200k on the clock.

And I currently have 4 cars on the drive with a reasonable overall value and one of those is recorded (CAT D)

Just because I'm shrewd when it comes to buying cars doesnt mean you need to be a prick about it.

Infact If I added the mileage together on all four it would only just clear the 200k mark, so please get your facts straight.
