He probably gets less than a penny from my license fee.
And everybody else's too Ben. That's the point.

Freiburger and Finnegan are great presenters. They seem like top chaps. I hope it's not a front and that they retain their 'normality' indefinitely.
I can't get enough Roadkill

If you're that hard up for a penny, you have bigger problems to worry about.

It was a bit of a laugh. The people who hate clarkson and co, are those who can't see this.
It shouldn't have been though. That's the root problem.
By all means run a 'silly' show parallel to 'actual' Top Gear, but it shouldn't have had the monopoly on the only car programme slot on the BBC, let alone the name Top Gear.
Top Gear always was a motoring programme and should have returned as one, rather than the bloated farce that it was turned into when it came back after it's extended sabbatical.

I was referring to his end of the transaction Ben.
A penny on, or off a pint of beer at budget time is more or less negligible to anyone with any disposable income. And inconsequential to a teetotaller. But it will have a sizeable positive or negative impact on the government's coffers.
Same principle at work.
Or were you just deliberately not getting the point?
Hard to tell with your good self sometimes. You seem to swing between serious and silly/'trolling' sometimes.
No offence intended btw

I get the point mate, it's just the whole thing doesn't really bother me.
Yeah i'm gutted top gear as i know it will cease to exist, but theres no way those 3 won't be back on TV with another near identical show, so i'm not too worried.

What have Clarkson and Amy Winehouse both got in common?
Both used to be on top gear

Had a thought this morning. Channel 4 should bring Driven back and add JC, JM & RH to the line up.

The first series back was pretty dreadful too. It wasn't until James May joined and they started doing the challenges/specials that it got good.

It was Top Gear though. A proper, dignified car/motoring programme that documented technologies and advancements.
And i'm not talking about when it had the likes of Quim-tin Wilson etc in it after the initial rot had set in with the addition of the pube headed, bigoted gobshite.
I'm talking genuine Top Gear from the late 70's and most of the 80's with Woollard and co.
Couple of good examples...

Proper stuff.
Woollard was good on Rally Report too...

Top gear in the 70's and 80's was a bore fest for people who enjoy an oily mug of cold tea.

I remember old top gear being shot from a car show usually. Like the nec and they would talk about really normal cars like the new saab and compare boot spaces etc
