Verdict on glentress as a trail centre is good! The black is 30k long, some lengthy climbs one section of climb is near 2 mile in length. The decent parts on the black are quite steep and filled with obstacles so a good challenge. Unlike a lot of other places I've been to the black is actually a seperate route completely not just the red with short bits of black.

The jump park/free ride I guess you can call it is also decent enough. Top day out, time for steal and chips.

So I've spent a good 1 hour 30 minutes editing our Aston Hill headcam footage. We have an old Samsung sports headcam which plugs in to a seperate Samsung camcorder and it came with Ulead VideoStudio 9 so I thought I'd install that.

Was editing fine but couldn't review all of the project and thought it was a problem this install. Tried creating the master video file and it keeps crashing.

Turns out VideoStudio 9 is only compatible up to Windows XP. Downloading a trial of VideoStudio Pro X6 in the hope it will recognise the video file and I can export!

Bosh. Video quality isn't great as it is an old head cam.

Yes in know him fairly well. Wouldn't say we're drinking buddies but know him.

His coaching is supposed to be pretty good. Brought on a mate really well.

He's riding in the 4xProTour at the moment, heavily into Chicksands Bike Park and does guided rides/coaching at the Olympic XC course.

Unless I take the audio off I can't. Because I've used a Gym Class Heroes song YouTube puts copyright on it and only works on PC so they can put ads on it

You can get round it by filling in a request on YouTube saying you are not looking to profit from other people's work etc. if you search on YouTube for copyright it actually tells you how to do it in a video.

Hmmm, I submitted a dispute saying I'm not selling the video or making any money from it. and got this message in return Whether or not you benefit financially from using the content doesn't matter. Unless you have permission from the owner, it's not yours to use..

I have acknlowedged third party content. I guess that is as much as I can do.

Does anyone know if Vimeo applies such restrictions?

I tried a few things as well like fractionally slowing the music down thinking it wouldn't recognise it, failed. I followed one of the videos on YouTube, be 2011, and it worked ok although only plays sound in 720p video format for some reason.

The Olympic course was where I met him, he's done a few coaching sessions with a chap I ride with at Chicksands which is why I wondered if you had met him. Good chap!

Will that be run on the red rout downhill bit? Or is there a separate DH track there?

I will keep an eye out! Bea and I will be there with a white Giant anthem and a dark grey Carrera HT.

Are there any really basic DH runs there? Like really basic, that don't need jumping

The Verderer Trail is graded blue and really flowy.

But yeah we'll be on the DH runs.

Nice one Doug.

Yeah had a great day. Except one of the final runs I overshot a table landed on the piss, hit the deck and hit a tree with my right shoulder.

Good job I wasn't driving as I can't move my left arm.

Bit scared at the moment but as soon as I did it I had full movement. Its just stiffened up now.

Fingers crossed for nothing more sinister!

What about you? Good time?

Yeah was very good. Bea enjoyed it which is the main thing!

That last section is actually really fun. I video'd it on the GoPro but watching it back it seems so flat compared to what it actually feels like!

Fingers crossed its just pretty bruised and nothing more. I did potter up to what I thought was the parking for the uplift guys but couldn't see any sign of the Morewoods.

I'm glad you had a good day, and at least the weather was on our side

Looking to head to Forest of Dean today, but could go here instead. Is it worth the trip? What's it like compared to Cannock etc? Any decent drops etc?

I went for the first time Monday, I might go back next week. It's not bad with it being pretty local.

Video from the last section of Forest of Dean today: http://youtu.be/7dt_J1wlqZU

The camera really fails to show the features of the trail. It's really up and down with plenty of flowing jumps.
