I can see both Liverpool and United losing out in their respective issues. Even though I read this morning they were somehow working together to ensure both Suarez and Rooney stayed.
Working together?

I didn't really get it either, I read it on the Sky Sports app this morning.
Mail on Sunday - Traditional enemies Liverpool and Manchester United have made a pact to try to stop Luis Suarez and Wayne Rooney leaving for Premier League rivals.

Good atmosphere today. Decent win and just what Moyes needed.
Quite strange how Valencia has lost #7, a few people noticed it when he came on! Not sure why he has lost the number.

Steve said he's coming like two months ago, dunno why this is such a shock for anyone.
Do you still love Suarez?

Said in the paper this morning that he asked to change back to #25 as the pressure was stifling him...

Not confirmed but seems to be the case.
Wonder why they are giving Fellaini the shirt
Edit - United squad list on manutd.com shows him back at #25.
[Edited on 11-08-2013 by Marc]
btw #25 is Fellaini's number... although he wears #8 for Belgium

Downing to West Ham for 6m seems to be nearly done. Decent price for west ham, 55m of "talent" from Liverpool for just over 20

Fair point, it's a big number for us. Not sure who will take it now!

seems odd but yeah, cna kind of understand it.
Luiz Gustavo to Asrenal for 18m (unclear whether that is € or £) seems like its well progressed.
Not our first choice (Lars) but more than adequate I think. Other than Suarez, sounds like we will go after a RB from Spain or Germany and use Sagna as 4th choice CB (and still 1st choice RB, for now). think we need more on the wing and neither keeper has covered themselves in glory in pre-season :/

Can't argue with signing Gustavo, nice solid addition.
United are now without a number 9, 7 and potentially 10

Was gonna say you have no #9 either!

I'd be delighted to get Gustavo. They need him far more than they need Suarez. Someone who will win the ball and play simple passes to let the creative players cause the damage. Someone you've needed since the Gilberto Silva/Vieira days.

Was going to say earlier, i'd still be amazed if Arsenal get him seeing as how well they've done this summer

absolument! Arteta did well as a stand in but it completely killed his attacking prowess and stifled his creativity - him/Ramsey alongside a true DM would be spot on.
Napoli are bastards

My dad suggested something that did make me think. What about Thomas Vermaelen as DM i.e. push him forward and sit him just in front of the back 4. He often does well going forward and would give us a lot more security at the back. It would put more pressure on the other midfielders to be the creative ones

it was debated a few years back, but as with defending, i dont think he has the necy discipline - same as songy
wenger has never used him there so mustnt trust him either. think he'll leave next sumemr and be replaced bya top defender imo

He's an oddity. He was outstanding when he arrived but his consistency fell to pieces. Alderweireld would suit Arsenal's style of play.
