Interesting thread
Ive driven my bro in laws 225TT extensively over the last few years...we've been head to head on track too.
Mine 160bhp/155 ish lb 860kg
His standard.
In a straight line not much in it to 80mph...he then pulls away...but in slow motion.
Track? depends which one i guess....bit irrelevant in this discussion.
Hey ho

Speeding on the open road again with a Scoobie?
Surely that cant be the driving characteristics of a sensible driver...
Not meaning to open a can of worms or anything..

so if it was a standard 2 litre corsa:
corsa bhp per ton: 150
TT bhp per ton: 179
and then theres the fact that the TT has 86lb/ft more torque.
Not saying it didnt happen or couldnt happen, just that the TT is a faster car than a corsa XE
so the TT driver must have been shit.
not read the whole thread but a few pointers below
Could have been a 180 with a twin exhaust conversion
The torque figure is 207 for a standard TT
Could have been a V6 TT
I would very doubt that in a race up above 100 that the corsa would go past the TT. Above 80 the TT is a quick car
But hey I wasn't there

If so how did it get on because the only compariosn for this thread is that I raced a MK5 and wipped the floor with it above 80 mph

I never ever ever ever ever ever saw or worked on one in my 2 years of working for Audi
Strange
also did a 180 FWD which was not far behind the 225 to 60 as it was very much lighter

could well be mate - thats what I was saying
Sound like a funny questio but did it have xexons, did it have a black rear valance
If it did it could be a V6 or 225 as I have the black valance off a V6 on my 225
Only sure way to tell is if someone can say whether it had xexons

I personally think there would be little in it between the 225 and the XE
But no way would they sail past a 225 at high speed

I had a TT sitting right on my bumper at 80mph so i waved and booted it, but the TT driver smiled and sat on my arse upto 130mph before i pulled over and let him past. It was a twin exhaust model so i assumed it was a 225 turbo.
From 80mph they are seriusly quick, well faster than XE corsa quick anyway.
