It is such a fucker...took 8 weeks for the planning permission to come through for the windows....
building warrant has now been in for 8 and a half weeks, and still no work...have tried phoning and emailing the guy that is dealing with it and had absolutely no response
no wonder people don't bother going through the proper routes...its such a pain in the arse
Hopefully we'll get the majority of the windows in in December....the ones that we need the building warrant for though will just have to wait

It took us 8 years to get planning permission for our barn conversion. Hope that makes you feel better

thing is though fee, most people dont go through the proper routes because they dont realise they have to, not because they can't be arsed.

It was mostly fucking around and waiting. The buildings on the farm were initially built with no planning permission. The barn we converted had stables downstairs, so we took all the horses out, put in normal windows so that people thought somone lived down there. We then also got the people who lived there before to say they lived in the downstairs of the building. We then had to have the designs of the building changed about 20 times, and all that you can see from the outside is a new glass front wall to the building - was annoying to say the least.

new curtains in the lounge bay window
Started putting the kitchen up today, and wired up the sockets etc.... Gas is in, and plumbing for sink and dishwasher.

yup, its a gloss black finish..... walnut worktop.
We want to go for frosted glass splash backs the whole height base to wall unit, the whole length from recess to the unit past the dish washer. I want a deep'ish red, but i think Fee wants pale blue. No rush so we can decide on that later
I need to go build the last two wall units before hanging them next week. Going to be busy all weekend so trying to get as much done just now.
