Its not cynicism Kerry, far from it.

Simply put, if you are only putting ~450 calories into your body, but working a normal day (and in your case i'd think a very active one thanks to bub) you'll be trying to be active with a calorie deficit of about 1550 calories.

Therefore its hardly rocket science why you will loose weight. The only thing is, your body is not only eating through the reserves you have, but it hasn't got enough "good stuff" to even half compensate.

Its also a very addictive diet, similar to atkins, and people don't look at the long term medical repercusions that can come from fad extreme diets.

I've seen both the cambridge diet and the atkins diet work for 2 seperate people, but only last as long as they are mentally willing to keep up destroying their body. As soon as they hit a limit both went (in time) back to a similar weight to where they were before.

If you are living a sedentary lifestyle, then its better to mix up the diet to something healthy and sustainable that is balanced against your calorie output per day. So simply by working out on average you burn 2000 calories, you can eat up to 2000 calories and feel great and not worry about putting on weight. Simply by slightly lowering your calorific input amount or increase your calorific usage, you'll create a deficit that is not only healthy but sustainable and you wouldn't be missing out on anything that you enjoy.

but i probably only burn about 400 calories

i thought the whole idea was to build back up to eating around 1500 and maintaining it?
Is that what they did then and still put weight back on?
my friend did it got down to a size 10 and shes stayed there over a year later. she was a 16!

That's what I did and in revenge my body stopped producing lactase enzymes!

Don't over-do the cheese people. Eat it in moderation, because once you can't have it your life is over

Yeah Blue top, I'm only having 2 at most a day, think I might up it when I go back to weights

You can't only burn 400 calories, you'd have to be sat down the whole day If you're doing daily chores, i.e. cooking, cleaning, hoovering etc your are going to be using quite a lot, even more so with bub under your arm.

The gf's mum did the cambridge diet for a month, similar weight loss amount as yourself. She went back to eating what she was eating before which wasn't masses, toast, fruit, main meal, sandwich and a bag of crisps which is about 1400/1500 calories yet she still put on weight. Like I said the body basically puts whatever you give it into reserves because its getting ready for you to do it again.

I'm not saying its impossible, however I don't see how its sustainable

I'm having 3 pints of full fat milk on a gym day, and 1 pint of skimmed and 1 of full fat on an off day.

Get into Iceland, Fridge Milkshakes on offer, 2 for £1.50. Now thats a treat after training, Post Shake mixed with Cookie Dough Fridge

I tend to have PHD synergy all the time atm, 1-2 shakes a day tbh. Should really stop, as I know as soon as I don't have them my body will have a fit. Usually have them with water too, far too thick with milk. Do you have any supps?

I have 2 myprotein whey shakes with full fat milk a day (I double the recommended protein size as well)
Then I take a multi vit, glucosamine and omega 3 tablet a day as well

Need to move one of my protein shakes to earlier in the day and have a recovery shake again but the one I've got at the moment is rank

Yeah, Used to have Optimum one mixed with oats, now just have it with full fat milk. Same late afternoon and then CNP Recovery after. I've got a few other bits I picked up at discountsupplements before they stopped selling to drop in people (really pissed me off as its on my way home) and a few random gainers/creatine/whey protein bits I got in the Holland and Barratt Sale.

If you haven't tried it before, Cyclone is pretty good an hour and a half before you train, makes you a bit fucking nuts though. And I'll have a look at who the creatine one I have is made by as that properly sends me into the right mood It's a bit like speed, but not illegal

Seaded Granary bread is not bad
Crisps in small amounts are not bad

I'm a firm believer of enjoy what you eat, not restrict yourself or hold yourself back.

too many variables, how hard/fast/long for? what are the chances of you getting caught? if its a high chance or if you're watching something alittle risqué then you'll be sweating more

Not disputing that its safe, its just that the physical portion size and daily calorific intake is not sustainable for long periods without having either mental/physical side affects.
