Update: 11/12/13 - engine update.
After searching for a while I finally came across a Lexmaul inlet manifold up for sale on ebay, been after one for a while as don't really like the look of the usual "powerbox" modification. few bids later and I was the winning bidder of this...
Now as it wasn't upto my usual standard condition wise, decided id have a go at refurbing it myself, I thought id try and go for the Ferrari look red crackle finish and polished lettering..
The trick to getting a good crackle finish is heat, so whilst the missus was out I popped it in the oven for a bit...
After a bit of cooking, here's one I made earlier
Now after seeing the paint cured, I really wasn't happy with the finish, the colour was a bit too bright and looked pink/orange'ish in certain lights.
After a call to BJV engineering I was set to have it powder coated and I thought whilst I was making the journey I picked up a rocker cover to have the same treatment as I could no longer use my Carbon engine cover.
A week later and id picked up my freshly powder coated items:
The finish is unreal and Andrew there even polished up the lettering on the inlet for me.
After purchasing some new gaskets it was time to get it all into place:
First the rocker cover:
Replaced all the bolts with shiny stainless ones as I went.
Then on with the inlet:
Now with both rocker cover and inlet in place I wasn't happy with the exposed plug leads, after a convosation with Chris @CMcomposites he sent me out a fibreglass plug cover, I soon modified this to fit and sent it back for him to use as a mould for a carbon fibre item..
Soon this arrived for me...
So wasted no-time in getting that bolted on, Whist under the bonnet I've also modified a TX Autosport c20xe heat shield to fit the x16xe.
Here's a few finished pics:
As always Comments welcome

bay looks better, reckon the shiny bling bits need to be the same colour as the rocker though

I see what your saying, but most of them are functional and how they come such as the alloy rad, heat shield, header tank and power steering tank.
I may do the strut brace in the future as its starting to pit in places, not sure id do it all as I personally think it would look too dark, plus I like a bit of bling
