Classic Ashes. How can people prefer T20 to this?
Been watching some of the 2005 Ashes alongside this, brillant series.

Great day to be fair. Batting all day was the main aim.

Yep, done well, all credit to Bell who has taken some flak for only getting big scores alongside a high scoring partner. Hes put in a hell of a shift today.
Broad (kept in check by Bell) also did what i said he needed to, and could do, earlier in the thread.
Great first test.

Don't understand anyone that isn't Australian saying that Broad should have walked.

Umpire says not out. Do not walk. End of debate.

Broad should have walked.
Then Australia should have allowed Trott to replace him and given back the 150 runs they got through a poor umpiring decision in the first innings

The best bit is the Aussie reaction to it has been "aye, whats the big deal, we wouldnt have walked, its the umpire's decision" they dont blame Broad at all.

Was gonna say the same, we're the only country that lambastes our own teams when we do something that helps us win!
Cricket is cricket and 10 years ago people used to walk, they don't now, its as much the Aussies fault for wasting their reviews. As said, the umpires made a couple of poor decisions that helped the Aussies the day before, this evened it out a bit.

Fucking journos stirring shit up for the sake of a story. The only player who did anything wrong in that incident was Clarke when he gave the umpire a mouthful, which is ironic considering what he did in Adelaide a few years back.
Broad had absolutely no reason to walk, especially on the back of two shocking decisions the day before. It couldn't be more simple, you ask the question, the umpire gives his answer, the players accept that and get on with the game. Fuck me I once saw a leading edge caught at point and the umpire didn't give it out.

Broad brings up his 50. British media now probably calling for the reintroduction of the death penalty

It would be a record chase at Trent Bridge, but its playing well for batters, lets see, we've not done too bad considering we were 11/2
