As discussed on MIG,one before and one after the FMIC would give a good idea of how well the FMIC is working and any improvements could be monitored.

if i was made of money...............................

intercooler by all accounts is stone cold all the time. the inlet temps themselves have never been a bother before. just heat soak that it suffers from. often do data logging on the car when kicking about in it just to check things over.

crazy adam has got his turbo supercharged throttle bodied k series powered sierra plans underway.

was doing screamer pipe when i was leaving. mental it will be. mental. also a pointless video, but still kinda cool of it running with no manifold.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQ1hWtwZ03o

flames and that.

also attacke the vectra. taking plenums off wasnt that bad to do the plugs and leads actually.

cracked round where egr pipe goes into. common fault. also egr pipe was split. so after a lengthy discussion of about 3 seconds, and the only line of thought involving, fuck the egr off, the egr got fucked off.

amazing blanking plug for the manifold

the jdm managed to get his welding torch down the back of the engine to weld the manifold up still attached as its a ball ache to remove the rear bank manifold.

pic is upside down, but it looks quite easy to fit some gsxr 750 bike tb's to a v6 vectra engine. one day maybe......

gave it a bit dremel out for some added flowing type stuff

probably cant tell from that pic but nevermind. so fire it on the rollers seen as it was 10pm and nothing better to do really.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phL9J7MwdGs

camera phone hates rolling road clips. microphone cant pick it up at all. oh well. entertaining though running my own car on the dyno. thats not a phone in my hand, tis a pda that controlls the dyno instead of having to drag keyboards and mouse things inside the car. so the results were as follows......

189.6bhp and 184.9lb/ft not bad for a 10 year old 99,000 mile engine. only mods really if you can call them mods are egr blanked off, k plus n crappy cone filter and some dremel attacked tb.

looking at the graph you can see flat spots at about 3500rpm, then again at 4200 ish. wondering if them solenoids in the intake set up are not working properly? sadly didnt take the std air box as maybe some of that is the k plus n aswell.

so all in all, 3bhp down from std power after 10 years and 99 thousand miles. im well happy with that. also now the exhaust manifold isnt blowing its quite a quiet car. the mpg has also gone up. was averaginf 37mpg over 25 mile drive home. happy with that.

thanks for reading.

yeah ive been looking at those lately. really wanted them bk 999 vxr replicas from work but i cant be bothered paying out for 225/40/18 tyres awell whereas there is still a good 5mil on the toyo's i have on these 17's.

been looking at a decat for vectra. something else to do i guess.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vectra-B-2-5-V6-Stainless-De-Cat-Exhaust-Down-pipes_W0QQitemZ350248934477QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item518c769c4d&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

cheap enough. and now that im an official rolling road operator, i can do my own power runs to test if there are any improvements. (although i still have to pay as it costs money to run the dyno but i can tap the keys and make it work myself)

well, today didnt begin all that well. took car to work as off to mates rolling road like every saturday. while having a very spirited drive down this bit of road, it became foggy very quickly, and all of a sudden seen a yellow rover infront. not being able to judge the distance and speed due to fog, i braked. went over a bit of a rise in the road. back end went light, span it round one side, i caught it got it straight then all of a sudden went the other way. sideways into a curb, then along the curb and along the grass. lets just say for legal reasons, that at the speed it hit the curb sideways, ive no idea how the car didnt roll and how im still able to type this. but anyway some pics

bit camber

chunks out of both wheels on driver side where skid along curb. nice.

battery jumped out of the battery box and smashed the battery box to bits with the force of the impact on the curb.

lovely lovely euro look street cred style camber. yet it looks fucked, as it is fucked.

so yeah. fucked it. first crash ive had in 10 years. but as it normally goes, fix the fucker. sadly no pics of it getting fixed. but basically the back beam was bent and creased extremely badly. 2 wheels fucked. so got axle from scrap yard for cheap. got paid while i was at work to fix my own car. nice. found a set of vauxhall wheels in the shed at work so bought them off the manager bloke. so sadly car now has 2 crap wheels. also had to buy 2 new tyres.

crap wheels indeed. so new beam fitted. thoguht it was ok. went to drive off. no it wasnt. something was fooked on front end badly. so had another look, and yeah, something was knackered.

ball joint in the front of the pic is extremely bent. one behind it isnt. so yes, need a ball joint for a 500 bhp corsa, get one from the scrappy for a quid. fixed it atleast. checked camber and tracking. tracking has been a bit out for a while so adjusted it a bit but it needs a touch more. camber was fine.

great pic of the air duct for a fog light

the only piece of bodywork thats suffered from the crash was that piece of sideskirt. went back and my mate joyce found it, but its smashed up a bit so its in the bin. will order one next month not arsed.

so 2 new tyres, set of 4 vauxhall wheels. not a chance they fit over front calipers sadly, scrap ard back beam and scrap yard ball joint and it lives on. so off to see my mates down the roling road.

knowing my battery box was smashed up, johnathan of jdm dyno fame had decided to make a mould up to make a few as he wants one for his escort, one for me and one for mate slick for the crx.

mould made, going to make a box tomorrow in black so should have that early in the week.

then onto the air temp gauge thing.

one of them

one cardboard radio

ken tec ftw

can live there till i sort something proper out. grand as hell. got a bit sick of listening to phil collins anyway.

sad times though. drive home was bad. ive lost a lot of confidence in my driving. even down sections of road i normally hammer the car along, sat slower than the speed limit. it will come back though. for now im just taking it easy, feeling very lucky the car didnt roll and become a far more serious accident.

thanks.
