Sound insulation on the z4 top is pretty damn good. And it has a heated rear window, no real need for a hard top other than protecting the soft top and aesthetics.

Lights look great ben, nice deep red. Look like the could do with a polish though, looks bumpy near the frenchfry

Theres no bumps, or nothing bad anyway. Photobucket has reduced the quality which makes them look a bit odd.

I can only see that when I zoom in on my phone.

They had runs before, from where I put the lacquer on too thick. They lasted a year and a half and no one ever said anything this is the best finish i could possibly get.

I believe so. Not a hard job but obviously if the sun comes out whilst it's on and you're out, you have to leave it on.

But if the suns out and you take it off, you can still put the roof up?.. They do look cool but i wouldn't buy one

Also, i'm going to be putting original bmw style roundels back on. The carbon fibre ones have faded and i've had enough of the monochrome look.

yeah it is a bit marmite, isn't it?

We love the shape (we're weird) and was actually going to buy a 1.6 turbo one before she got the black 1.0 focus.

This one however is proper poverty spec.

I've just had a Juke for the weekend.
1.6 Acenta (non-turbo I believe?)
It went suprisingly well, but I found it pretty dire otherwise. Interior quality was much lower than I was expecting!

The only thing I liked was the Climate/D-Mode controls swapping over on common buttons etc. Smart idea imo.

Rocker cover gasket replaced today. Easy enough. Took us 1hr 30mins as we took our time and dropped a couple of bolts onto the shield under the engine.

Old gasket was very brittle and snapped when removed. Pretty much at the end of it's life.



Always love seeing the inner workings of an engine. Twice the size of the stuff i'm used to seeing at work.





Once finished, I started it up and let it idle and revved it a bit and there appears to be no more leak

I do need to give the engine bay a clean up though and remove the residue from the oil leak to be absolutely sure though.

Ah cool!

Just a question, your front slam panel under the plastic bit with the bmw badge, is or was yours ever rusty? Mines all bubbled in parts.
Also I randomly have just one rusty bolt on the air box. Really annoying that it's just 1
Think I need to adjust my bonnet catch too, the bonnet has rubbed in two places either side of the bmw badge in the bay :S
Think it had a new catch before I got the car. Haven't a clue how to adjust or even if you can

Yeah it has rusted under the plastic bit in the middle. Must be a water trap. Needs treating with that por15 stuff Steve used, seems good stuff.

You can twist those 2 rubber circle things near the wings at the front to adjust the way the bonnet sits I think.

I adjusted mine right up but when driving along, the bonnet popped up a little, so twisted them back down.
