If he didnt request a transfer and we sold him then he is due a loyalty bonus, much like when Toure just left Arsenal and they had to pay him one.
If he is for sale, and it comes down to him either joining us or you (as we both have money) then he will join us, 100%.

I'm unsure of Silva, would like us to bring him to lfc but not sure how he'd feel about fighting it out with his spanish national team mate riera for his place in the team (world cup year blah), suppose he could be played in different positions and having 2 good players in 1 position is always a nice problem to have.

The tough thing for bentiez to decide whilst still making the numbers work for transfers is who we can get A. As a suitable like for like replacement for xabi B. Who can we get o help us score goals when torres/gerrard are out. It's not beyond the realms that gerrard might be dropped back into CM if he's more comfortable with a striker target than the midfield targets that have been mentioned.

I can only see that if we sign a big name forward, such as Villa - but cant see that happening.
If be happy to sign someone to replace Xabi and Silva. Would leave us stronger than last season fosho.

Aye, cant argue with that.
As far as I am aware (Nath  ) we still had a decent budget to spend prior to Alonso being sold, hence how we could afford to bid £25m for Tevez.
So if that goes on Silva then we've got £30m to replace Alonso with.

Depending if we got into a bidding war with fergie for silva i'd think we could get him for around the same price as we paid for torres. If we got aquilani for £15m then I don't see why it can't happen but I don't think we've got as much as £55m in the bank to spend now!

Depends what the yanks decide to do with Alonso funds.
If we get all that and still have the other amount then will be quids in - if they tried to take that off him I think Rafa would go mental in the press!!
