lol. The sub wont work on its own like magic, you need something that powers the sub, which is the amplifiers job. It is necessary, otherwise how will it work?

" bigger the amp better the sound". Mate you are talking out your anus! Ok so i'll just go into my garage and hook my Alpine 1507 (900wrms @ 4ohms) to my old kenny 8" (125 wrms @ 4ohms) How good will it sound? The punch effect as I blow the cone off of the frame should be good, it may even hit the garage roof if i use the right tone...
First rule is match the RMS of the sub to the RMS of the amp and then in terms of sound - encloure is everything!!
