over the last few weeks ive noticed a rattle from the timing belt housing, sounds like its coming from the bottom pulleys but not sure what it is. anyone got any experience of this or know what problem could be?

if it hasnt had the belt and pulleys changed yet its more than likely the pulleys r on the way out and i would get them replaced asap cause if the go it will cost u heaps 2 repair the head and valves and stuff

yeah the pulleys and belt are gettin changed tomorrow, only done 54k miles though, is this normal? service book says 80k

yeah and no depends how they r driven if u thrashit about all the time in high revs they will wear quicker and need 2 b repalced sooner

not thrashed about too much, lots of motorway drivin tho. looks like its gonna cost me about £120 tho

ive changed my belt twice and its only done 50 k and same with the pulleys
i think there was a recall on certain 1's depending on the year

i would rather spens the extra money than takeing the risk

yeah definately worth it, was gonna have at done at service in nov anyway, just dont really have cash at moment. suppose its better than £800 later in the year tho
