MY mate has just got a P Reg Corsa. When he lifts the thing on teh ghear stick to go into reverse and then takes it out of reverse the button is constantly in the up position which means he can always put it in reverse without lifting the little thing.

Is this a common problem and does anyone have any idea wot he should do/buy to fix it ?

he might have broken the release spring thats under the gear knob
