when i turn the volume up on my pioneer headunit say above 10 on every bassy note there is a scrunchie noise. I know it is not my speakers coz i have just changed them and the noise remains so the only other thing it could be is either the wiring or the unit itself.

so does anyone know what it would be?

These are all possible causes.....

You have blown the voice coil in the speakers.

If you are using an amp to power these, check the earthing etc..

Again if using an amp, have you run the power wire AND the RCA's down the same side of the car???

The HU is fuked

could you elaborate a bit further?

snowy i dont power them by an amp and i think it would be unlikely that the voice coils are broken on both speakers??
