Have been going to the gym for 3 months now and want to know how big i should aim to get??
Was around 9.5 - 10ish stone i think when i started and am now 11 8!! Dont know what people reccon is a nice size to be??
Would like opinions! (serious ones (steve !!))

You should aim to go a little bigger then tone yourself up.
My opinion.
I dont like them guys that are pumping steroids in them to be big as fcuk

with that height id say around 14 stone lean would be plenty big enough. Others might say 16 stone etc, but that would probably be with quite a high percentage of body fat. ITs better to be lean as you will look bigger anyway if you are ripped with good definition.
Its a long hard road though, with a perfect diet and spot on training i reckon the most muscle someone can gain in a month is around 2lbs. The gains really slow down after the first 6 months too.

I have almost reached my natural genetic potential now, I am fluctuating just over 15 stone and my body fat is fairly low. Before i was training i was only about 11 stone, i dont think i can push my body to grow anymore without gaining body fat. When you`ve reached your genetic potential naturally now is the time to use steroids. There is only so much your body can take with hard training, rest, good nutriton, chemical warfare is a battle that needs to be won on the hormonal level and thats where steroids come in.

you are 3% bodyfat? that is extremely low mate, i think the average premiership footballer is 7/8% bodyfat. if you were 3% bodyfat youd be ripped to shreds.

Ive been training for 8 years and sports sceince and human bilology at college so its always been a big part of my life. Its a shame that the big guys dont help you out at the gym, it shouldnt be like that. At my gym we are constantly helping each other and exchanging ideas.
Only thing with bodybuilding is that if you ask a bodybuilder a question they will each give you a different answer, they area all correct because not everything works for the same person. I guess what this means is that training is a continuous learning curve of trial and error, unfortunately this is what causes a lot of people to lose interest and stop. you just need to experiment and try different things out and stick with it.
Ive tried several training methods over the years and some have worked better then others. Any questions jus let me know.

did he do the test with fat calipers? where he pinches the back of your arm, back and stomach and takes readings?
For individuals with low body fat this isnt a very accurate method, the best was is so hydro tub thing that you sit in to have it measured.
Im not disputing the fact youve got low bodyfat, bonus if you have as the muscle you put on will be visible, just that 3% is extremely low.

I am 5'8 and 12 stone was 10 stone about 6 months ago but i've not put the right sort of weight on.
If you wana get 'big' without using steroids, eat protein 4 times a day like chicken or tuna.
Train hard 2-3 times a week and rest well.
I wouldn't like to be big and i don't do anywhere near the amount I should but i'm trying to change that just now

oh and 3% body fat is rediculous, that's near what you would need to be if you were a 'bodybuilder' in full training for competition, it's not good having that little body fat and you would be very defined.

This is true, if you find it difficult to keep eating protein packed meals, ie on the move or at work then invest in a good whey protein. Ive tried loads over the years and reccomend promax by maximuscle. 35g of protein a serving i think, so a couple of these a day between meals will get an extra 70g of protein into your body.
I usually have one straight after training, sometiems before bed and 1 with my breakfast.
