corsa turbos are not as fast as everyone thinks, i went up against one at the strip, i stayed dead level with it til about halfway then he pulled away with a time of 13.7 so really low down they arent all that, just 60+ is where the real power in them is

Cars are not about 0-60. Pant way of timing cars. 1/4 mile is real road action.
And steve, with the turbo engines you short shift through the first two gears as the rations are very short. But once it gets up speed theres no way in hell most cars would catch it.
And sooty, doesn't put anything to shame?? What you on about?

Yes Vibrio, i thought you were the bearer of all knowledge on everything?????
Where you change gear quite low down in the revs, i.e only let it rev up to say 5500rpm.
1st gear and 2nd gear are not particulary strong on the f28 boxes so most people i've know with vauxhall turbo's short shift so not to put too much strain on the box.

no sorry but I change to stay in my power band because my gearbox was built properly
