I want to fill and smooth out myscuttle in my spare time but dont really know what to do or what I wil need I have a rough idea but would appreciate if someone could explain to me exactly what I will need to fill and smooth it so that it just needs painting when complete which will be done when my rear bumper gets done, thanks for anyones help appreciated thanks Paul...

neva done it mate but u can buy em from ccm for 50quid or in stead of smoothing it mesh its just an idea

first thing do u want it filled and smooth or just smooth? i mean do u want to get rid of all the holes?

u will need: large tub of fibreglass paste, filler, hi build primer, lots of 80,120,240 and so on grit paper,patience.

start off by gettin rid of the orange ppel effect by rubbing it off with 80 grit paper. u have to do this or the materials will not stik to the plastic.
then mix up a big dollop of fibo, and from the back, cover all the holes. make sure u work the paste in as u dont want any air pockets.
then repeat from the front. keepint the fibreglass as smooth as possible. wen set rub it down to the rough finish u want. then skim over with filler to get rid of the imperfections and sand again. repeat as nessesary. the prime paint and laquer if mettallic. easier said than done

Cheers mate just what I wanted to hear, everyone has to start somewhere and I have a spare scuttle so why not give it a go who knows where it might lead to, probably CCM to get a propper one but thanks for your time mate much appreciated, Regards Paul...

no probs, if u get stuck just u2u me. iv just made 2, one for me one for my friend, once u get started its easy. i totally filled them and joined the two panels together it looks well sweet
